Model Polytechnic College, Poonjar is running under the Institute of Human Resource Development established by Government of Kerala.

College offers three years Diploma courses in the field of Computer Hardware and Applied Electronics. These courses are affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala and approved by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE).

All the course syllabi has been tailored to suit extreme industry requirements. The institute is dedicated scientific advancement, technological progress and economic growth of the country through human resources development. Applied Electronics,  Computer Hardware Maintenance.

The Institution was started in 2000.Model Polytechnic College aims to provide student centered academic, and personal enrichment opportunities for life long learning through industrial and technical programmes.
